Naver Pay Wallet – the blockchain-based payment wallet built on the Chiliz chain as its mainnet – has crossed 1 million users. Chiliz announced the milestone on June 19, saying the user base increased more than fivefold from roughly 200,000 in June 2025.
The wallet’s rapid growth comes as Naver Pay integrates deeper Web3 features. Users can store digital assets, interact with blockchain services, and participate in gamified events directly through the wallet. To keep momentum going, Naver Pay launched a World Cup NFT event in partnership with game-streaming platform CHZZK. Holders of the wallet can log in and complete quests – watch live World Cup matches or support streamers – to earn one of 12 World Cup NFTs issued on the Chiliz chain. Chiliz called the promotion a “Web3 use case” that fuses blockchain with sports content.
Separately, Chiliz is expanding its national-team fan token business. The company signed a partnership with the Royal Spanish Football Federation and is preparing to launch a fan token for Spain’s national team. Spain joins six other countries already in Chiliz’s portfolio: Argentina, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Scotland, and South Africa. The launch schedule and participation process for the Spain token will be announced later, in line with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation (MiCA).
Alexandre Dreyfus, Chiliz’s CEO, called the 1 million-wallet milestone “significant.” He added that the company will keep rolling out new Web3 experiences by combining sports and blockchain.
For traders, the main catalyst to watch is the Spain fan token release timeline and any updates on MiCA compliance. CHZ, Chiliz’s native token, has seen steady interest as the ecosystem adds real-world adoption through Naver Pay’s massive user base. The next concrete update from Chiliz regarding the Spain token launch will likely drive near-term sentiment.
