Ondo Finance token jumps 15% as traders favor blockchain-based real-world assets

The Ondo Finance token rose 15.71% to $0.4030 on July 21 as traders bought tokens tied to securities, funds and other financial claims represented on blockchains. U.S. regulatory discussions and reports of a Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation pilot for blockchain-based stock processing raised expectations that Ondo Finance’s tokenized stock and exchange-traded fund business could expand.
Ondo Finance climbed more than 15% on July 21 as traders piled into tokens tied to the real-world asset theme. The token changed hands at $0.4030, up 15.71% from a day earlier, according to CoinMarketCap.

The move was not driven by one clean headline. Instead, market participants pointed to a broader shift of capital into RWA-related tokens, which are designed around assets such as securities, funds or other financial claims represented on blockchain rails. Buying also picked up as traders looked for names that could benefit from a more supportive regulatory setting.

That backdrop has mattered more in recent days. Discussions at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission about how digital commodities should be classified helped draw fresh interest into the sector, according to market observers. For a market that trades heavily on policy clues, even small changes in tone can pull money toward the same trade.

Ondo was already on traders’ screens after reports on July 15 said the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation would begin a pilot program for blockchain-based stock trade processing. That raised expectations that Ondo’s tokenized stock and exchange-traded fund business could widen if the market for on-chain securities keeps building. The company has also announced a tokenized stock and ETF product, giving it a direct link to one of the market’s busiest growth themes.

A separate boost came from Japan. Ondo said it struck a partnership with SBI Group to work on asset tokenization in Japan and settlement using the JPYC stablecoin, a move the market read as another step toward broader Asian adoption of RWA products.

For now, the key levels are straightforward: whether ONDO can hold above the $0.40 area and whether buying in the wider RWA basket keeps flowing. A setback in regulatory expectations, or a fade in demand for tokenized-asset trades, could cool the rally just as quickly.
