Crypto exchange BitMart is shutting down. The platform announced a phased wind-down on July 26, starting with a halt to new registrations and deposits. All trading services will stop by August 26, 2026, with the exchange fully closing on January 31, 2027.
The timeline is laid out in a notice from the exchange. Effective immediately from 1:30 UTC on July 26, new user sign-ups and deposits of both crypto and fiat are suspended. Futures accounts switch to reduce-only mode, and no new spot orders are accepted. Automated trading – copy trading, grid trading and API-based strategies – will be phased out as well.
From 1:00 UTC on August 26, all spot and futures trading ceases. Any futures positions still open at that point may be force-settled by the platform using the prevailing mark price, index price or applicable settlement rules. Investment products – Earn accounts, staking, lending and Launchpad – will be discontinued on their own schedules. Users must follow the product-specific guidance to complete repayments and settlements.
After the final shutdown on January 31, 2027, customers can still log in, view trade history and request withdrawals. BitMart says it will announce the procedures for that period separately. For now, the exchange urges users to finish know-your-customer (KYC) verification before August 26, close all open orders and futures positions, and withdraw their assets.
Withdrawals will remain available after that date, but the exchange warns that additional compliance checks – anti-money laundering screening, sanctions reviews and Travel Rule compliance – may delay processing times.
BitMart did not give a reason for the exit. The shutdown follows a wave of consolidation among smaller exchanges after years of regulatory pressure and shrinking volumes. Users holding funds on the platform face a clear deadline: complete KYC and pull assets before the August 26 trading halt, or risk longer withdrawal times later.
